We feel very blessed that my Mum and Dad are able and willing to make the journey to come and stay with us. It's not always the case with families but we are fortunate to all get along really well so we always have a great laugh with them. They've taken to the lively, furry addition to our household well too, although Dart does seem to have a particular penchant for Dad's shoes ;)
This time we took a wander to a local beauty spot nearby called Cullever steps. Andy, Dart and I often pass it on walks and recently on a super sunny day, Andy joined Dart for a dip. I'll spare you some of the pictures since it was a skinny dip.......!

After walking up an appetite a tasty bbq and much wine followed.
Next day we took Mum and Dad to see our (all being well) new house. You can't really see much from the roadside, which is good I guess since it will be nice and private from within the plot! We had a good old mooch around the village, which is about a mile away. There's an awesome local community shop/tea room which seems to stock almost everything you could need. Mum and I had a nose around the little village church, superbly named 'The Church of St Protus and St Hyacinth at Blisland' and it would have been rude not to stop for a drink at the Blisland Inn.
Our next stop was Lanhydrock, a fantastic National Trust property and grounds just a few miles away. I'd love to get a job here once we move...... Home in time to endure England's dismal final performance in the World Cup, thank goodness for the lush Aperol Spritz Andy made for Mum and I, which made the experience bearable!
Sunday saw us walking around Abbeyford Woods which young Dart absolutely loved. It was scorchio so some shade and a fantastic Sunday lunch at the New Inn in Sampford Courtenay was most welcome.
Thanks for coming to see us Mum and Dad - next time Blisland??!!!
