It's been a quiet couple of days here in Devon. We are all counting the days until Dart has his next vaccinations and we can actually get out and about and explore a bit more.

We're being a bit naughty and taking him out for walks around where we live - it's fairly remote and we rarely meet any other people, let alone dogs. We would all be going mad and climbing the walls otherwise, he's an energetic chap. Always on lead too and we're keeping a close eye on what he's up to! In fact it's worth being extra cautious - I've been reading about a nasty doggy disease called Alabama Rot. Sadly there have been a number of cases in Devon but fortunately not too near us - even worse you can't stop your pet from contracting it, but you can be aware of the warning signs and act quickly.

Yesterday we did our longest walk yet, our first circular. We had a bit of drama on the way as we passed a boggy fenced in field with a stream running through it which had become quite a significant trench.

A teeny tiny lamb was on one side, and it's mumma on the other. The little lamb can only have been days old, it still had a bit of umbilical cord hanging down and it was shaking like mad and wailing away. Goodness knows how it had got there!

Andy went into the field via a gate and the wee lamb was quite

happy for him to pick it up and carry it over to the other side. Wet trousers and boots were worth it when we saw Mum and baby reunited - it was feeding like it had been starved :)

Of course this was the one time I didn't have my phone with me to take a picture of the heroics in action......So instead here's a little collage of one man and his dog

It turns out there are squirrels living in our loft - not ideal. They also steal the food we put our for birds in the garden. Could do with Dart scaring them off. Got someone coming to fill the hole in which they get in to the loft next week.

We've booked a holiday in June - not going far though, Cornwall....... ;)

Off to Dart's puppy club tonight and really looking forward to four days off all together - hopefully we'll get out for some adventures. Wishing you all a super Easter!
