Miss you all!

It’s been a funny few weeks.
There’s absolutely no doubt in my mind that we’ve done the right thing moving down to the South West. I love it and have felt ‘at home’ right from the start. But that doesn’t stop me missing the friends and family we’ve left behind.
For example, Saturday mornings aren’t quite the same, I do miss the Tring parkrun gang! Running was never really going to be my great passion, but I so loved volunteering and being part of such an awesome community of friends. Andy isn’t running at the moment due to doctors orders, but once we settle somewhere we might try out volunteering again – but Tring parkrun will take some beating.
On the subject of settling, we’ve been viewing lots of houses. They all seem to be in Cornwall, as do our weekend exploits, so it’s looking likely that’s where we’re going to end up. I’m trying not to get my hopes up, but we’re in negotiation for what could well be our dream home. It’s been going on for over three weeks now and we are currently waiting to hear back from the vendors. Not going to say any more as I don’t want to jinx it but watch this space!
Despite a little heartache missing people, we’ve been having a great time. Lots of trips to the beach, mainly the North Cornwall coast including Watergate and Blackrock, both dog friendly. Dart LOVES the beach but still working on his enthusiasm for the sea. I’m sort of with him there ;)
We had a fab day at the Devon County Show with tickets courtesy of our lovely neighbours on the farm. And off to the Royal Cornwall Show next week – everyone tells me that this is the big one!
I was taken out for a posh meal at the Dartmoor Inn in Lydford as a treat and enjoyed some very fancy hake. Didn't spoil my diet too much though, I've now lost 1 stone 2.5lb with the mighty Slimming World - got to love an eating plan with so much unlimited food!
Discovered the quirky little cinema in Okehampton - it's a bit tatty, but only a fiver a ticket so we've been to see Deadpool 2 and Solo - loved them both!
It’ll be our 6th wedding anniversary next week and we’ll be in Cornwall so I’ve booked tickets for the Minack Theatre in Porthcurno to celebrate. Been wanting to go for ages since a dear friend Sean, a fellow Cornwall nut, recommended it. Can’t wait.
I had an unexpected last minute day in London this week as some train tickets came my way & was lucky enough to spend it with the gorgeous Liz and her two crazy girls – it was SO good to see my mate, have a hug and just spend a few hours together. So looking forward to them coming to stay with us in a few weeks :)

Andy is valiantly working his way through the local ales – current favourite is a Dartmoor Brewery offering called Jail Ale

Apparently we need to crack on with the Dartmoor Ale Trail, could be worse things to do in life!
