Snow day and a puppy party

19th March

I’ve been looking online for some extra support with training Dart.

He’s been invited to a series of Puppy Parties at the vets to help with socialisation so we’re going along tomorrow for the first one. I’ve also just booked him in for obedience classes with the Okehampton Canine Society – I spoke to a lady called Caz who was super friendly, welcoming and encouraging. Both of these things will be great for Dart, but also nice for us to meet some new people!

Tried a different walk with Dart today. He’s not fully vaccinated yet, but where we live is very remote so we’re only taking him places nearby and that are safe for him.

The sun was shining but there was still masses of snow from the weekend. This time the pictures speak for themselves – we all loved it and can’t wait for lots more exciting walks as Dart gets bigger.

20th March

I’ve been feeling a bit grumpy today about our previous letting agents and landlord who are giving us grief about getting our deposit back. I’m not going to name and shame them (at least not until we’ve got all our money back!) but they really are bullies and crooks. We are entering in to a dispute process with them now – but with confidence that it will go in our favour. Wish us luck.

Dart, Andy and I went along to a puppy party at our vets. There were five other couples and lots of puppies. The idea is for the puppies to socialise, while the staff offer information and guidance to us new puppy owners. Dart was a complete chicken to start with (and I was a nervous mumma) as there were two lively, boisterous but adorable Rottweiler puppies that were a lot bigger than Dart! Everyone was friendly, and we all got to hold and play with all the pups.

It was brilliant to see Dart grow in confidence during the party – he was loving it all by the end.

He seems to like people, especially ladies, more than other dogs.
